Loving on Abi

I have such wonderful friends. Those that came were treasured, and also reminded me of the beautiful women in my life that couldn't attend the shower. Miss Abigail was showered with love again this weekend from some of my good friends in Texas - what a fun day.

Thank you to all who continue to love this little lady and be excited over her life. It is amazing to witness.

Wonderful Observation

Yesterday at church, I was able to observe something truly wonderful. Before worship started, a family of three sat in the row in front of us. Donald and I were just having fun looking/laughing at the little boy interacting with his parents. I guess that just was a catalyst into me thinking about raising Abi, and honestly having a little bit of an overwhelmed moment. Then the music began, and I observed the Dad begin to worship his Lord. The following moment was truly beautiful. The little boy looked up at his Dad, and then raised his hands to mimic his father, all while smiling and beaming at his parents. A rush of peace and excitement rushed over me as I thought about how awesome the relationship will be between Donald, myself, and Abi. There is so much responsibility, but so much joy.

Here's to less than 6 weeks until we meet our little lady!!

Foolish Love

Angela and I are quite excited as the day our two becomes three draws near! Don't get me wrong, we are also completely overwhelmed, and even though we have spent hours and hours reading, researching, discussing, and praying about all things parenting and babies we know that the stick house of knowledge that we have developed would never stand on its own. But then, there is this strange magic that makes us well up with joy when we see a glimpse of our child (who now could otherwise be described as a gray scale alien), and we know that there is nothing, NOTHING, that could stop us from loving our baby. We are so blessed to feel this love in our hearts. So even though our knowledge is limited, our experience small, and our abilities undeveloped; and even when we survey the amazing challenge that is our upcoming parenting years, we carry a peace in our hearts that can only come from love! It is our hope that this foolish love will not shrink as we become talented parents, but rather that we would see it spread like wildfire to all areas of our lives! Indeed, we thank God for his foolish foolish love.

(the song at the end... comic relief maybe?)
